Five Stone Tax Advisers

IRS Shuts Down Overseas Tax Assistance Centers (TACs)

More than 6 million Americans live abroad and have an annual tax filing obligation with the IRS for either the US Individual Income Tax Return 1040 or FinCEN form 114 Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR). Taxpayers living abroad will no longer have access to IRS Tax Assistance Centers to obtain guidance on questions they have in regards to these filing obligations. Taxpayers facing these issues should retain US representation with the technical capabilities, capacity and experience to provide overseas representation and advice on these complex filings.
